Due to some technical difficulties, I wasn’t able to post here for some days.
As I’ve said before, I was having difficulties in deciding between Tumblr and Posterous for maintaining my tumblog. Although both have their own strengths and weaknesses, I was unimpressed. While Posterous has trouble with linebreaks with plaintext emails, Tumblr takes ages to load on my internet connection. Hence, I decided to stick to WordPress. :)
Yeah, this site is built on WordPress. I’ve used a combination of Typographic and TI themes to build the interface. While Typographic’s presentational elements rock, TI has got an excellent backend – for it is based on the Sandbox framework. Its like having the best of both worlds. :)
One of the reasons that made me hate Typographic’s backend was the lack of a commenting system. Although I have implemented IntenseDebate comments on this blog, it still needs a commenting system built in the theme so that it can replace the code over there. And the Sandbox thing was too tempting!
In between my transition between Posterous and WordPress, I had also considered using Chyrp and Gelato as the CMSes to use here, but then I decided against it. WordPress still rocks!
Over the course of time, I’ll standardize the code that I’ve used in this custom theme and release it to public. This is the least I can do…
